My name is Michelle Farrar, age 17, and
I think I was born in the wrong
generation. This is the opinion of many
of my teachers, friends, and members
of the older generations.
One of the resons why is my absolute favorite
band ever is The Beatles. A
lot of people consider this weird, because
this is the year 2002, not 1964.
If that's weird, then I guess that's what
I am.
The biggest problem with having The Beatles
as my favorite band is that
memebers of the older generations say I'm
too young to appreciate them and
ther type of music. Whenever I ask them
why, they don't have an answer.
To the older generations, am I really too
young to appreciate The Beatles
and their music? Those of you who listen
to the younger generation's music
and enjoy it don't hear nagging from us
about being too old to appreciate
the music.
I think if I've developed a love and curiosity,
does that not constitute an
appreciation? I think it does, so therefore,
I fully appreciate the music of
The Beatles.
So pleasem older generations, understand
that some younger people enjoy
older `music. And to those younger people
who enjoy older music, kudos to
you, and stand up for what you like. You're
never too young to appreciate
good music. Long live The Beatles and their
legacy!
Sincerely,
Michelle
