Pushing and Picking

You only pushed me down
And I saw black for weeks
And then music poured in like a rope from
Heaven-
And I never believed in Heaven but there it was in a song
Written for me,
Loving me
And wrapping his arms around me
Like you never did.
We're only picking fights,
It's time to say goodnight to our
jealousies.
I'm not the one that's lost anymore.

Angels

I hear that angels never go away.
drinking living dying driving trying-
All second in thought when you love
An angel.
I know that angels need to hold on.
clinging holding protecting molding-
All for granted when you love
An angel.
Drug injected like dust, more and more angel dust-
The way this need brings yield to lust,
The way each other has chosen
Us.

Train Ride

The lights flickered
but romance lingered.
Like lips, we parted.
For them to survive,
lips
must necessarily close for warmth and
comfort.
Icy streets
lovers meet-
kept close by care.
Lost, I turned
Panicked-
Then I saw you there.

Rain

Rain wished down my face,
Washed in the wiper blades of my car.
There aren't massacres
anymore.
Rain pured me beneath my skin,
Penetrated in the ways of lovers.
Death is pleasant
anymore
For tenderness, everpresent
Endures.

Drive

I'm off for a drive.
Maybe to Ohio.
Back before Sunday.
I love my boyfriend.
Suicide not plausible.
I need to spend money on
Things I don't need.
I'm off for a drive.
Maybe to Ireland.
Back before Sunday.
I love my boyfriend.
Suicide not probable.
I need to spend money on
Flyers tickets he needs.
I'm off for a drive.
For the wind.

Inspirationless

I want to say things
To my inspiration,
He has to walk in the city today.
So I guess it's Zoloft or something.
I'll give in and not cry and let it
Change who I am.
I would overdose on happy maybe.
But my inspiration is in the
city today.

Mourning My Guitar

The blue cracked.
I sent it back.
Returned: a new one
Mother of pearl sent straight from hell
Worth: $450.
It doesn't help me now.
My trade-in's shot
My car's wearing in
The blue cracked:
I sent it back.
