The Influence
Of Part

I wonder what it is about my soul- sometimes the littlest part of me is the
most vocal. I often find that this part of me gives me the courage to walk
a new trail or to post my opinion. It lets me be a Coyote trickster, and it
lets me write from the heart. This is the part of me that is descended
from the Seneca tribe. Genetically, it only reigns 10% of my self, but
spiritually, I could think of no more important factor.

When I was little, I'd always latch on to subjects. I was fascinated with
dogs, and Alaska, and Anne of Green Gables. Aside from the last in the
list, the only point of intrigue that really stuck was my interest in Native
American culture. Perhaps this is because that culture is part of who I
                   am.

While it has been hard to find much out about my specific tribe, I have
learned that tribes across the country can be very different from one
another. In reading general folktales and ideas (and with more media
influence than I'd like to admit), my interest has become personal and
                   spiritual.

I've found love, and anger, and envy, but there is still something within
that binds me to the land. While my Celtic ancestors may have also had a
hand in this binding, I believe it is more personal than that. When I'm in
the forest here, the things I see...

                   The things I see.
